Back to school | ditch the specs?
Heading back to school, and wondering if there’s an alternative to glasses for your sports-loving kid? Well, there is β night lenses! Imagine your child having crystal-clear vision all day long without the need for glasses or daytime lenses. This innovative solution is gaining popularity, allowing them to fully enjoy sports without the hassle of sporty eyewear. They can see their teammates and the ball perfectly, all while not worrying about mud, broken glasses, and even being able to open their eyes underwater with sharp clarity.
Hold on, are you saying they won’t need glasses or daytime lenses anymore?
That’s right! Night lenses work through a process called Orthokeratology (or Ortho-K lenses in medical lingo).
In simple terms, your child puts in the lens before bedtime and sleeps comfortably. While they snooze, the outer layer of cells on their eye naturally sheds and new cells grow. As they rest, the night lens gently shapes their eye by molding these cells β it’s completely safe. This gives them excellent vision. When they wake up, they take out the lens, and they’re good to go. They can enjoy clear and natural vision all day without the hassle of glasses or daytime lenses. They need to repeat this routine each night because the outer cells shed daily, much like brushing teeth or wearing daily lenses.
Yes, it’s safe. No, it’s not permanent (the effect lasts up to 48 hours as their eye returns to its natural state). No, it’s not a new and untested concept β it’s been around for two decades, and recent advancements have made it even better. If you haven’t met anyone using them, you can read about other young individuals (ages 5-18) whose lives have been transformed by night lenses, including my son Benjamin (the surfer) β I’m a real person writing this, not some automated marketing bot! ????
P.S. They’re eco-friendly too: only 2 small lenses per year compared to potentially multiple pairs of broken glasses or 730 daily lenses ending up in the sewer (not cool!) or a landfill.
Sounds good: show me some teenagers whose lives have been changed by them:

IMPORTANT PARENT NOTE: Night lenses can also help to control Myopia (short sight)
I was really upset when I found out that my son had ‘Myopia,’ which we didn’t even know about. Our optometrist casually referred to it as ‘short sight,’ and we didn’t pay much attention to it; we simply got him glasses. But ‘Myopia’ is the actual medical term for short-sightedness, and it’s connected to future eye problems. The good news is that it can be managed and kept under control. My son, who is 16 now, has his vision under control. If we hadn’t switched him to night lenses, he wouldn’t have been able to read even the top line of the eye chart at 40 without glasses or daytime lenses! But now, he can read a few lines down. If we had started him on night lenses 5 years earlier, he would have stabilized at around -2.00D, with vision just above the legal driving limit. My advice to other parents? Start early.
