Nightlenses changed my life – Jason Brown, Soccer Player
In this nightlenses.com conversation, we sit down with Jason to discuss how night lenses made a significant impact on his life and why he suggests them for anyone in professional sports.
I play for a team in northeast Aberdeen currently in Division 1 of the Scottish league called Peterhead F.C.
What’s your position on the field?
I’m a defender. Not the flashy type, though. I’m the one who’s willing to put my head where it hurts. Someone’s got to do the dirty work, right?
So, how long have you been using night lenses?
Started at the beginning of this year. I had my doubts initially, but once I tried them, there was no turning back.
You were using day lenses before. Did you ever have issues with a lens falling out during a game?
Yeah, a few times. The most recent incident was towards the end of last season. Lens fell out, had to be subbed off because I couldn’t get it back in. After that, I seriously started considering night lenses as a better fit for my active lifestyle.
Confession time β have you ever sneakily popped your day lens back in during a match?
Gotta admit, I’ve done it a couple of times. But don’t tell my optician!
It’s a risk of infection, but in the heat of the game, that’s not your first concern, right?
Exactly, you’re more focused on the match than hygiene. Not ideal, but sometimes you’ve got to work with what you’ve got.
Now that you’re using night lenses, how much of a difference have they made on the field?
They’ve given me one less thing to worry about during a match. Before, I’d always be wondering about my lenses β how they’re feeling, if they’re in the right spot. Now, with night lenses, I’m free from all that. It’s a surreal feeling, and it’s made a huge impact.
Did issues with day lenses ever distract you from the game?
Definitely. There were many times when a lens shifted, and I’d try to adjust it during play, only to make it worse. It definitely affected my focus during intense matches.
Considering the rainy Scottish weather and the heading involved in soccer, having nothing in your eyes must be a relief with night lenses, right?
Absolutely, can’t blame my lenses anymore! But seriously, it’s a bonus. With the ball in the air and the physical play, having clear vision without lens worries is a big advantage.
Why would you recommend night lenses to other soccer players?
It’s a no-brainer! People don’t believe you can see clearly with nothing in your eyes until you tell them. I can’t speak highly enough of them. Life without lens worries is amazing. It’s a surreal feeling I think more people should experience. Night lenses have been a game-changer for me and they can be for others too. Just give it a shot!
How’s the upcoming season looking for you?
It’s going to be challenging. We’re not a full-time team, and the league is tough. We train 3 to 4 times a week, but we’re up against some part-time teams too. Preseason’s rough, but as we get into real games, things are looking up. Still early days though.
Is the team coming together well during training?
Yeah, the team’s gelling nicely. Preseason’s never fun, but we’re starting to get into the groove. Looking forward to the real action, and I’m enjoying the journey!
